Member Tags

Tags in WorkZerk are used to classify Contacts & Portal Members for later retrieval or filtering. They are a very important and powerful feature within the platform.

Tags can be used internally or externally by using the ‘Hide in Portal’ feature.

If any Tags are ‘Hidden in Portal’ then they won’t show in the Worker Portal, so you can think of these as being for internal use only.

When you add Members in WorkZerk you are always adding it from a Contact. So when you add a Contact in WorkZerk, those ‘Contact Tags’ propogate to the Member record (they are inherited).

That is powerful, but bear in mind Member Tags (inherited from Contact Tags) are actually separate entities. So a Portal Member can have their own set of tags for their Member record (separate from their Contact Tags).

When a Member is created from a Contact record, that Member record inherits the Contacts tags, but only once. After that, you can tweak those tags in the Member record.
